No, we are private pay only. This means we are out-of-network providers therefore we are not in-network with any insurance companies. However, you may contact your insurance provider to verify if you are eligible for any reimbursement options. Many providers offer this benefit but do not advertise it!
We recommend prospective clients call the number on the back of their insurance card and ask the questions below:
The 4 questions that you may want to ask an insurance representative:
Does your plan include “out-of-network” coverage for mental health?
What is your annual deductible for mental health benefits?
What is your co-insurance? (What percentage does the plan cover?)
Is there a limit on the number of sessions your plan will cover per year?
It is also helpful to find out how you can submit your Super Bills to your insurance, which Dussan Therapy can automatically provides for clients via client portal on a monthly basis, if desired.
Our online system takes payment via credit/debit card, and most HSA and FSA cards are accepted.

Our first appointment will be an intake session where your therapist asks questions to learn about the things that you want to work on, your lived experiences, things that that make you tick, or tick you off. We will also go over your intake paperwork (this needs to be completed ahead of your appointment). We'll cover practical details like confidentiality and session structure. This sets the foundation for our work together.
The first appointment also is a chance to check the therapeutic fit in general and for your clinical needs.
The sessions after intake are where we continue to learn about your lived experience (this takes on average about 4 sessions), building a collaborative roadmap and develop goals for your therapeutic journey that draw from your strengths and support areas where you want growth.
Every session builds on the last. You will be expected to take an active part in your journey in and outside of session. Sessions are where we come up with plans and you execute them on your own. This can look like reflecting between sessions on what you want to talk about, recommended reading, and generally incorporating what you learn in session into your everyday life.
Change only occurs when there is a willingness to reflect and change patterns.
A typical course of evidence based therapy begins on a weekly cadence for abut about 6 months. This can very from person to person for various reasons including but not limited to: the goals you are bringing to therapy, how those goals might adapt over time, and general level of care required to meet goals or best clinical practice guidelines.
Your therapist may recommended increasing or decreasing frequency based on progress and clinical basis.
